Anne Marie (Zilis) Limanowski, 90, late of Orland Park, formerly of Roseland, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 11, 2015 at Holy Family Villa in Palos Park. Anne Marie was born on August 19, 1925 in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago to the late Anna and Stanley Zilis. She graduated from Fenger High School in 1942, and from The American College of Physical Education at DePaul University. On October 22, 1949, she married the love of her life, Boleslaw"Ben"Limanowski. Member of All Saints Catholic Church in Roseland for 45 years, taught kindergarten at All Saints Parish School in the 1950's and 1960's. Moved to Orland Park in 1971. Anne Marie was elected Village Clerk of Orland Park in 1975, and was re-elected in 1977, 1981 and 1985 and served as Village Clerk for fourteen years. Member of: the International Institute of Municipal Clerks; Municipal Clerks of Illinois; Lithuanian Catholic Womens Alliance, Chapter 75 and St. Michael Catholic Church, Orland Park. Anne Marie was known for her quick-wit, good humor and love of singing. She was an avid Scrabble player and those who dared to challenge her often lost. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Stanley, husband Ben, son Jerome, brothers and sisters George, Roger, June Cachares and Sylvia Suba. Survived by children: Joan Wisniewski, Dr. John (Susan), James (Lynn), Joseph (Barbara), Janet (Peter) Hopman, Judith (Michael) Hopman, Jeffrey, and Joyce (Peter) Larson, grandchildren: Jennifer, Kimberly, Scott, Kaitlin, Kyle, Stephanie, Daniel, Jerry, Elizabeth, Kimmy, Sarah, Jonathan, Justin, Andrew, Emily, Brittany, Lauren, Brian, Alyssa, Morgan, Nathan, Tommy, Larry, Nicholas and Jack; sister in law Loretta Zilis and brother in law Dave Cachares. Beloved Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Holy Family Villa 12220 Will Cook Road in Palos Park on Thursday October 15, 2015 4 - 9 pm. The Funeral will be held at Holy Family Villa on Friday October 16, 2015, Lying-in-State from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 am. Private interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Family Villa or Northern Illinois Food Bank, 273 Dearborn Ct., Geneva IL 60134 in Anne Marie's name.
