The earth's rotation paused briefly on 11/29/2020 at 7:17 PM. Angels descended to embrace the frail remains of a child of God. The full moon illuminated their path and lovingly transformed the worn child's face into a masterpiece of heaven's art. This phenomenon occurs the instant when the Sun and the Moon are aligned on opposite sides of Earth. This child was always on time.

Antonio Rigoni, a long time resident of Chicago, raised largely in Tezze Sul Brenta Italia has been rewarded for a lifetime dedicated to faith, love and loyalty. His family and countless friends were blessed with nearly a century of his life.

The eldest of 8 children, he was preceded in death by nearly all of his generation. He humbly endured the death of the love of his life, Pierina in 2005 after 57 years of marriage. Together they forged an unbreakable bond with our Italian heritage. His life was changed when, as Carabinieri, he was stationed in a small Alpine village named Oulx. He met my mother and to this very day, the Martin family is everything to us. Dad last visited Oulx in 2010. We will bring him there to rest eternally with Pierina.

Ever the simple, quiet man, we witnessed a profound transformation upon the birth of his first grandchild and the soft underbelly of Nonno became evermore evident with each child born. Those babies are his testament and mourn together. Mitchell (Zaira) Newsome, Grant Newsome, Justin (Jessica) Rigoni, Ariana Rigoni and Stephany Rigoni.

He became a Bisnonno  in 2016. Anadaii Vittoria Newsome is the new generation he never expected and he was awestruck. She is the gift of the great circle of life and deeply treasured

Surviving his loss are his daughter, Lucy Newsome and sons Robert Rigoni and Ronald Rigoni. Ever grateful
