Cheryl A. Krzyzaniak, age 68, of Lockport, IL formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away on June 17, 2024. Beloved daughter of the late Henry R. and Elaine (née Todd) Krzyzaniak; loving sister of Susan (Steven) Koebel and Karen (Daniel) Lozynski; dear aunt of Carolyn (Steven) Soderstrom, Christopher (Alyssa) Lozynski, Julie (Timothy) Kucharski, Brian (Holly) Koebel, and Denise (Joseph) Sparks; proud great-aunt of Mackenzie, Madeline, Jackson, Steeley, Riley, Aaron, and Leah; kind niece of Thomas (Margaret) Todd.

Cheryl grew up in South Holland, IL, where she attended Thornwood High School, Class of 1973.  She graduated from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and earned her Master's at Governor's State University.  Cheryl taught at various high schools before joining Thornton Township High School in Harvey, IL in 1984.  While at Thornton, Cheryl taught high school senior English.  She enjoyed mentoring students and new teachers.  Cheryl was also involved in the yearbook, school newspaper and literary magazine along with sponsoring the Speech and Debate teams.  Cheryl retired in 2019 after 35 years at Thornton.

Cheryl would do anything for her nieces and nephews and adored her great nieces and nephews.  Cheryl also enjoyed shopping, going out to lunch with her friends and spoiling her dogs.

For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Cheryl's life, memorial donations may be directed to the Ray Price Memorial Scholarship (TTHS) or PAWS of Tinley Park.

Visitation will be held at Thornridge Funeral Home in Orland Park on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM with a short memorial service at 11:30 AM followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL
