Christine Therese Muldoon was born January 8, 1947, the second child of Walter and Lottie Lysek. She grew up in Palos Heights with her sister Joanne. Chris attended grade school at St. Michael's in Orland Park and remained connected to the church for her lifetime. Chris was a sophomore at Sandburg High School when she met John Muldoon at the Kinney shoe store in Evergreen Park when he sold her and her best friend shoes. It was the beginning of the best thing that ever happened to him. Chris and John were married in 1965 at St. Alexander's in Palos Heights and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. Their son, John Patrick Muldoon, was born July 18, 1966.

After graduation, Chris developed a long career in business and eventually returned to school to become a Certified Internal Systems Auditor. She started at Argonne National Laboratory as a secretary/ stenographer. After her son's birth, Chris returned to work as a payroll clerk for longshoremen on Chicago's East side. In 1970, Chris began working at Bell & Howell in the school division. In 1983, she was made Senior EDP Auditor and in 1987 she was promoted to EDP Supervisor. After B&H, Chris worked for Hartmarx and Bally, culminating her career at the Illinois Secretary of State as a Senior Data Progressive Auditor. Chris traveled the world while working for Bell & Howell and traveled extensively with John, seeing most of the United States, Europe, and China. They always looked forward to the welcome home reception from the many dogs that she loved dearly throughout her life.

Chris was an active parishioner at St. Michael's Church since grade school. She was a member of the worship team, a Eucharistic Minister, and one of the first female ushers. She was involved in many different parish programs, including Summerfest. She provided invaluable support to her husband John and the Knights of Columbus with many of the flyers, forms, and dinner preparations She also returned to her other alma mater regularly to see her son John in all his plays and musical performances at Sandburg.

Chris found great joy spending time with her beloved granddaughter Mackenzie, particularly when Kenzie was an infant, during long summer visits after John and Kenzie moved out of state, and sharing a love of Disney parks as adults. Chris loved Disney, taking her husband, son, and granddaughter to the parks with her many times. Not surprisingly, her favorite character was Donald Duck. She related to him because she didn't take grief from anyone. Like Donald, she was bold and took control of situations, but Chris's plans always worked out. Chris, characteristically, took a second job at the Disney Store for the benefits including the park tickets and discounts. Her son joked that she didn't take the job for the money because it all went back to the store. Chris loved giving presents and memorabilia to her loved ones. Those treasures will continue to provide loving memories for her family, as she will be missed deeply.

Muldoon; proud grandmother of Mackenzie Muldoon; loving sister of the late Joanne Lysek; dear sister-in-law of Francesmarie (James) Johnson and James (late Karen) Muldoon; kind aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation Thursday, from 3:00 - 8:00 PM. Funeral Friday, 8:45 AM from Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 14318 S. LaGrange Road (Northbound traffic: U-turn permitted at 143rd St.) Orland Park, to St. Michael Mass, 9:30 AM.
