Daniel Cruz, age 89, late of South Holland. Beloved husband for 59 years of Stella (née Medina); loving brother of Charles, Raymond, Virginia, Mario, and the late Betty, Margie, John, and Amado; kind uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Daniel was the sixth in a family of nine children. He suffered from polio from the age of two. At age six he was the poster child for the nationwide Easter Seals promotion in Chicago. He graduated from Harrison High School in June, 1953, and went on to work for Northwest Airlines for 40 years, retiring in 1986.  While working with the airlines, he met his wife Stella, who also worked for the airline industry. The couple traveled extensively to South America, Europe, and Asia. After retiring, he worked for the Cook County Board of Elections serving in various South Suburban locations as an election judge. They lived in South Holland, IL for 53 years.

Visitation Friday, April 25, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 15801 S. Cottage Grove Ave., four blocks North of 162nd St. (Rte. 6) Dolton / South Holland. Interment Private.
