Edna M. Lucas (née Wieczorek), age 98, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026.

Cherished mother of Robert, Thomas (Mary Jo), Edward (Kathleen), and Martin (Shari). Devoted Busia of Scott (Dawn), Jamie (Kevin), Anne, Lisa (Ryan), Steven, Patrick (Laura), Julia, and 10 great-grandchildren whom she adored.

A woman of strong Catholic faith, Edna lived her life grounded in prayer, devotion, and love of family. Her faith was a guiding light, reflected in her generosity, quiet strength, and the example she set for generations. She found great comfort in the Church and leaves a legacy of faith that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.

Edna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert C. Lucas; loving parents, John and Jozefa Wieczorek; and her dear sisters, Genevieve Szwaczyk, Helen Hulsman, and Jane Nowacki.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30th from 2-9 p.m. and Friday, May 1st from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the prayers at 10:15 a.m. from Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service), 15801 Cottage Grove Ave., four blocks north of 162nd Street, Dolton/South Holland to Christ Our Savior Parish Mass 11:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
