Obituary

Eleanor M. Lukowski (née Mutka), 91, of Dolton, formerly of Hegewisch, passed away November 3, 2022. Born on August 30, 1931, she worked as a legal secretary in Chicago prior to marrying and taking on the busy task of successfully raising four children.

Proud mother of Diane Osmolski, Florian P. Jr. "Luke" (E.E.) Lukowski, Wayne (Michelle) Lukowski, and Scott (Annie) Lukowski. She is survived by her sister Florence (late George) Mika, sister-in-law Nancy Mutka, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Anna and John Mutka Jr., siblings Ann Marie (late Art) Ahrens and John Mutka III, husband Florian P. Lukowski "Luke", and nephew Paul Ahrens.

Eleanor was a member of St. Mary's parish (where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years), served as an election poll worker, was active in local senior center events, enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader.

Visitation Thursday, November 17, from 2 - 7 p.m. Funeral Friday, November 18, 10:45 a.m. from Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 15801 S. Cottage Grove Ave., four blocks North of 162nd St. (Rte. 6) Dolton / South Holland, to Christ Our Savior Mass at 11:30 a.m. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum. Flowers are appreciated, or memorial donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
