Eli Serdar, age 96, passed away on January 3, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Diana Serdar (nee Bozickovich). Loving father of Daniel (Cynthia) Serdar and Danielle (Dan Trampel) Serdar. Fond grandfather of Nicholas (Betsy), Stephanie, Joseph and Michelle. Great grandfather of Milana. Dear brother of the late Mary (Milan) Brkljac, Stephen and Joe Serdar. Dear brother in law of Daisy Bozickovich. Dear uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Eli was a Proud Marine Veteran of WWII and served at Guadal Canal and Tarawia. Eli was a retired employee of US Postal Service and a member of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church. Visitation Friday, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Pomen Service at 7:00 p.m. at Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service), 15801 S. Cottage Grove Ave., (four blocks North of 162nd St/Rt 6) Dolton/South Holland. Funeral Saturday, Lying-in-state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, Lansing, with the Very Reverend Dr. Milos Vesin officiating.
