Eugene J. Petner Jr., age 78, late of Dolton. Beloved husband of Linda (née Breen); devoted father of Georgette (Rob) Keane, Elizabeth (Carey) Lunsford, and Andrew Petner; proud grandfather of Hayden, William, Levi, and Kaitlyn; loving brother of Mark (Janice) Petner and Mary Kay (Jim) Maley; dear brother-in-law of Marion (Ed) Pierson; kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Eugene was a retired Chemical Engineer, with many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Coronata Council, as well as a member of American Legion Post 330, where he enjoyed working for the Lenten fish fry. Eugene was a gifted pianist, and he found joy in feeding the birds and squirrels at his home. He was a great husband and father and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Memorial Visitation Sunday, December 18, from 9:00 a.m. until the of the Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. at Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 15801 S. Cottage Grove Ave., four blocks north of 162nd Street (Rte. 6) Dolton / South Holland. Interment private.
