Harold "Duane" Ensing was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 30, 2023, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.

Duane is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (nee Lolkema). Duane often spoke in deep appreciation for Nancy's unfailing and compassionate care and support throughout their 58 years of marriage. He was a loving and proud father of Jamie (Ken) Deckinga, Scott Ensing, and Kari (Ben) Dyer. Duane cherished his grandchildren, Kayli (Kyle) Hermann and Nathan Deckinga. He was like a brother to his sister-in-law Kim Fabian.

Duane was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Winifred Ensing, and his brothers, Herman (Ruth) Ensing and Andrew (Sue) Ensing. He is survived by his sister Beth (Con) Dreyer and brother Bill (Pat) Ensing, and many nieces and nephews.

Duane's firm belief in God and devotion to his family characterized every aspect of his life. At every step of his cancer journey, he felt God's assurance and a peace that passes all understanding. Duane's greatest pleasure in life was enjoying time with his family. He was always a familiar face at his grandchildren's sporting events. Duane was a faithful participant of many Bible studies and loved worshipping his heavenly Father.

His family will greatly miss Duane's daily smile, warmth, and kindness. At the same time, they are so abundantly grateful for all the decades of sharing their lives with him and knowing the gift of his love.
