Helen Popovich nee Drobac, age 97, late of the East Side. Beloved wife for 39 years of the late Marko (Mike) Popovich, died March 28, 2015, after a short illness. She leaves behind loving daughters: Vietta (Robert) Fuller and Diane (Dan); adored grandchildren: Michelle (Greg) Jenkins, David Fuller, Daniel (Becky), Adam (Hannah), and Stephanie; and nine great-grandchildren: Lexi, Mila and Niko Jenkins, Helena and Yvonne Fuller, Jack, Ben and Vincent and River. Born August 19, 1917 to Jovich and Sava Drobac the eldest of seven siblings, sisters: late Mitzi (late Milan) Panayotivch, Joanne (late Steve) Zagorac, Donna (late Milan) Rakich, Doreen (late Joseph) Bisone; and brothers: late Eli (late Dorothy) Drobac, late Nick (Dee) Drobac, late George (Helen) Drobac; and dear sister-in-law to late Cvijeta (late Jim) Knez, late Eli (late Alice) Popovich, late Eva Popovich Grba, late Adam (late Sophie) Popovich, late Ted (late Seja) Popovich, late Mila (late Mane) Trbovich, late Pete (late Mildred) Popovich, Sophie (late Milan) Ostoich, late Mary (late George) Stampar. She is also survived by 18 nieces and 17 nephews, one cousin and Kurnovi. She loved Serbian heritage and singing with the S.S.S. Sloboda Choir from the age of 15 to the age of 87. She was the treasurer of Knjegina Zorka Circle of Serbian Sisters for 25 years, and a lifelong member of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, Lansing, IL, as well as Karageorgevich Lodge #25 SNF, and the Order of Eastern Star. She shared her beautiful smile and warm friendship with everyone she met and she is an irreplaceable gift to her family. Funeral Services Thursday, April 2, 2015 at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, Lansing, IL. She will lie in state at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m., Very Rev. Dr. Milos Vesin officiating. Interment Cedar Park Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with 7:30 p.m. Pomen service at THORNRIDGE FUNERAL HOME (Janusz Family Funeral Service), 14318 S. LaGrange Rd., (9600 W/Rte. 45) Orland Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church or S.S.S. Sloboda Choir is preferred.
