James Watson Steekley, age 75, late of South Holland. Beloved husband of 53 years to Brenda (née Trowbridge); devoted father of Sheila (Brian) Denny, Rebecca Steekley, and Ginger (James) Szeszol; proud papa of Eric (Brittany) Denny, Landon, Wyatt, and Caleb Szeszol; dear papa Jim of Eli, Riley, and Taylor Denny; loving brother of Imogene Bush; proud uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. James was born August 2, 1946 in Sewanee, TN, to the late James Marvin "Pete" and Flora Blanche (née Watson) Steekley. He passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2021. James retired after 50 years of dedicated service from the Riverdale Steel Mill (Interlake, ACME, Arcelor Mittal). He was also a former member of the Lowvale Masonic Lodge #1139, and active member of the Crete Masonic Lodge #763.

Visitation Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with Masonic Rite Services given by Crete Masonic Lodge #763 at 4 p.m., at Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 15801 S. Cottage Grove Ave., four blocks North of 162nd Street (Rte 6), Dolton / South Holland. Interment private.
