Jennie Dilley Hedman, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker, friend to many, Sunday school teacher, life-long member of TOPS/KOPS who enjoyed baking with her grandchildren, hosting a great party and dancing whenever she had the chance, died peacefully at 93 years of age. Jennie grew up in the Kenwood & Gresham neighborhoods of Chicago, graduated from Calumet HS and moved to Dolton, IL in 1965. Jennie had been a longtime resident of Peace Memorial Village and recently Arden Courts in Palos Park, IL. Preceded in Death by: Husbands George Dilley (46 years) & Roy Hedman (1 year) and Parents: George and Bertranna Gothe; Sister: Ellen Anderson; Daughters: Kathleen Rush & Deborah Dilley; Survived By: Son: Gerald J. Dilley (Alexandra); Son-inLaw: Michael Rush; Grandchildren: Diane Gadziala (Zig), Susan Schebler (John), Michelle Toppi (Chris), Kirstie Stuckey (Jeff), Garrett Dilley, Mary Duffy (Joe); Great Grandchildren: Camille & Eliza Gadziala, Gavin, Griffin & Ireland Stuckey, Owen & Ryan Toppi, Brenden & Charlie Duffy, and Damir, AJ, Kamila, & Madina Schebler; Nephew: Lee Anderson, Niece: Geraldine Alberston and Loved by many in the extended Hedman & Rush Families.
Jennie donated her earthly body to the Rush-Presbyterian Project on Memory & Aging. A Memorial Service is planned for 2 PM Saturday October 5, 2013 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 7800 W McCarthy Rd, Palos Heights, IL 60463.
