Kathy Melone (née Jacobs), "Gramma Moon",  age 66, late of Thornton. Beloved wife of Jeff Melone; devoted mother of Mark (Laura) and Michael (Stella) Melone; proud grandmother of Jacob, Emma, Alison, Zoe and Nicholas; loving sister of Janice (Alan) Valente, Robert (Carolyn) Jacobs and Sharon (Mark) Malayter; kind aunt of many nieces and nephews. Kathy was a fantastic gourmet cook who hosted many parties. Her greatest pride was being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and connecting with nature in the forest preserves. Visitation Friday, from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 15801 S. Cottage Grove Ave., four blocks North of 162nd Street (Rte. 6) Dolton / South Holland. Interment Evergreen Hill Cemetery.
