Kenneth's Funeral Mass will be live streamed from Our Lady of the Woods at 11:30 A.M., on Saturday, March 9.

Kenneth D. "Ken" Vanek, retired Lieutenant Colonel USMC, Korean War and Vietnam War Veteran, passed away on February 29th, at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (née Sternal-Wolniak) and the late Evalyn (née Tabola); loving father of Kimberly (Kyle) Collister, Michele, Tracey (David) Hamilton, Allison (Dean) Kochert, Lisa (John) Zawaski, the late Kenneth Jr. "Buddy," late Eric Vanek, Karen (late Morris) Ruttenberg, and Valerie (Steven) LaRosa; cherished grandfather of thirteen and great-grandfather of ten; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Kenneth was the former Executive Senior Vice President of Damen Savings and Loan.

Visitation Friday, from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. Funeral Saturday, 10:45 A.M. from Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 14318 S. LaGrange Rd. (Northbound traffic: U-turn permitted at 143rd St.) to Our Lady of the Woods Mass at 11:30 A.M. Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery.
