Mary Therese Suffern née Durkin, age 90, late of Orland Park, beloved wife of the late Thomas Edward; devoted mother of Thomas (Rosemary Briars) Suffern, Michael (Karen Imbus) Suffern, Mary Kay (David) Bonoma and Eileen (Mark Pomatto) Suffern; devoted grandmother of Catherine, Olivia and Clare Suffern and Grace, Elizabeth, Molly, and Anna Bonoma; dear sister of the late Thomas Durkin; kind aunt of many nieces and nephews. While working as executive secretary to the regional manager at Illinois Bell, Mary met a young telephone installer at the St. Sabina Lateran Club. Tom was the love of her life. When Mary left her career to raise their family, Tom continued to acknowledge her senior age and rank and referred to her as "the boss" throughout their nearly 50 years of marriage. Mary found later vocations as an acquisitions clerk at the Dolton Public Library, where she expanded her circle of lifelong friends, and as a beloved Grammy. Mary was a devout Catholic and proud daughter of Irish parents from Clare and Sligo.
