Michael Ortega, age 87, U.S. Army Veteran, formerly of Addison, Illinois, Longboat Key and Sarasota, Florida. Beloved husband of the late Trinidad; devoted father of Lisa (John) Zoppi, Nancy (Ibrahim Khoury) Ortega, Anthony (Ramona Sullivan) Ortega, and the late Joyce (Patrick) Zeinstra; proud grandfather of Brendan, Hanna, Jared, Marc, Nina, Christian, Sebastian, Michael, Katherine "Kat", and Matthew; kind uncle of many nieces and nephews; predeceased by his beloved brothers and sisters. Michael was a lifelong tradesman and retired electrician for the U.S. Federal Government. He was also an avid tennis player, Chicago cuisine enthusiast, and lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Michael was a man of strong faith who loved his family deeply. A Memorial Mass and Inurnment will be held on Saturday, January 10th, 2026 11 am EST at St Mary Star of the Sea Church, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key, FL 34228
