Paul T. Steffens, 74, of Calumet City was born on October 31, 1942 in Chicago, IL and passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017. He was the owner of Steffens Bakery, member of the Southside Master Bakers, Retail Bakers of America, a Bank Board of Director, City Fest Coordinator, member of the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary. Paul was also a Navy Veteran and an avid bowler, golfer and poker player. He is survived by his beloved wife Joan (nee Guzzo); children Jennifer (John) Halloran and Gina (Cory) Kitchen; grandchildren Karsyn and Kendal Kitchen and Johnny Halloran; sisters Alyce Kurecki and Judy (Chuck) Lutz. Paul was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey, parents Alvin and Jennie Lou, sister Cheryl (Chuck) Crescent. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Funeral Thursday 9:15 am from Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 15801 S. Cottage Grove Ave., four blocks North of 162nd St.(Rte. 6) Dolton/South Holland to St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 768 Lincoln Ave. Calumet City for Mass at 10:00 am. Interment Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood.
