Savka Mladenovich (née Pekovich), age 77, late of Orland Park passed away on January 24, 2024. Savka was the beloved wife of the late Dragi Mladenovich; devoted mother of Marko (Ruth) Mladenovich; proud grandmother of Annabella and Alex Mladenovich; loving sister of Marianne (late David) Glenn; kind aunt of Amy Burke and Katherine (Bob Morack) Glenn; loving great aunt of David Burke, Lainey Burke, and Tenley Rae Morack. Savka was a loved teacher, Oak Forest H.S. District 228 assistant principal, and college professor with a doctorate in education. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, reading, cooking, entertaining, and doing crossword puzzles. Savka was a proud patroness of the arts, and passionate that theater and other artistic activities received the same attention as sports. As a world traveler, she went everywhere from Lake Geneva to Lake Como, and particularly enjoyed spending summers in Michigan. She was a member of the St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church and Rotary Club of Oak Forest. She will be missed by all who loved her. Visitation Friday, February 2nd from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Pomen Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service), 14318 S. LaGrange Rd. (Northbound traffic, U-turn permitted at 143rdSt.), Orland Park. Burial Service and Interment will be on Saturday, February 3rd 12:00 p.m. directly at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Monastery and Cemetery, 32377 IL-21, in Libertyville.
