Waltraud Wunderlich (née Heiseck), age 98, late of Orland Park. Beloved wife of the late Alfred; devoted mother of Heidi (Ric) Roemer; proud grandmother of Brandon (Katie) and Colin (Angelica); loving great-grandmother of Holden and Hailey; dear sister of the late Ottilie (late Pat) Dong; kind aunt to niece Linda Dong (Alan), Steven Dong, Norman Dong (Chris), and Martin Dong (late Jane).

Waltraud (Walde, as she liked to be called) was imbued with sharp wit and a big-hearted generosity. One of her greatest pleasures was gardening. She also enjoyed porcelain painting, sewing, and reading. With a deep curiosity about people and cultures, she loved watching educational television. A gifted storyteller, she often shared her riveting experiences growing up in war-torn Germany, along with cherished stories and memories of the people she knew and loved. Her faith in God was a steady and guiding presence in her life, and she found deep comfort and strength in her belief in Jesus as her Savior.

Visitation Thursday, from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 14318 S. LaGrange Road (Northbound traffic: U-turn permitted at 143rd St.) Orland Park.
